want to know how far kamala beach is from patong?

I am travelling to phuket in April with my boyfriend. want to find out how much a taxi would cost (aust dollar) from kamala beach area to patong. Also karon beach to Patong? not sure what area to stay yet. would prefer not to stay in patong as heard the beach is not as nice as kamala or karon.

I done it the other way around – stayed in Patong for the night life and restaurants and used a motorbike to get around to the other beaches. Cost about 250 baht a day to rent one. My favourite beach was Kamala without trekking off too far.
